Not What We Wanted To Hear

They got Jayd settled in St. Louis and drew his T-Cells, sending them off to Washington State to be engineered to go back into him to fight the cancer cells.

The time at St. Louis was difficult, to say the least. Jayd went through allot. He was out of it most of the time with pain meds. When he wasn't asleep, he was sick. I'm not going to lie, it was hard to see him like this and we couldn't understand at the time why he had to go through it all.

Chemo knocked the cancer back enough for him to finally be released but it wasn't long before he was right back at Vanderbilt in Nashville. Long story short, the CAR-T Cell treatment did not work.

They told Jayd and Jacee the news; there was nothing else they could do. They estimated 2 weeks to 2 months left to live.

We cried. We prayed. We still believed God would do a great miracle and Jayd would be physically healed.

People from all over and from right there at our home church were so good to us. They prayed. They brought food. They visited.

We had some really good worship services in Jayd and Jacee's bedroom. We took the Lord's Supper together and Jayd got to take it with us. These are just some of the memories we wouldn't take anything for.

Jayd was awake and alert the first few weeks we got back home. Two of his friends from Texas came and visited him and prayed with him. He got to see their fiances. He would have been in their weddings but that was not meant to be. What a blessing Jayd got to see them and they him one more time.

The last week or so, Jayd was out of it. Two friends of Jacee's family, Jeff & Cecelia, came all the way from Texas just to pray for Jayd because The Lord told them to. They were such an encouragement to us all.

We took shifts praying. Jacee's Mom, Dawna, took a couple of hours, Missy' mom and Aunt took a couple, Missy and I a couple, then Jeff and Cecilia a couple.

The first night it took us forever to break through and reach the Throne Room. We struggled to pray and get in the Spirit. We finally did and then it was good.

The next morning at breakfast we talked about it and discovered Jeff and Cecilia felt the same thing. A hinderance and heaviness. They too persevered and finally broke through.

The next night was completely different. We all had such a peace and slipped right into praying in The Spirit.

Were our prayers answered?

Let's finish the story...
